Common Scams to Avoid
Veteran flyers know the trick. Some CVG cabbies still detour through Kentucky suburbs when you say downtown Cincinnati, stretching the ride by 15, 20 minutes. Demand the direct run via I-275/I-75. Better yet, open Uber or Lyft. The map shows the route before you even buckle up. Save time. Save cash. Skip the scenic loop.
Inside baggage claim, hustlers lurk. Unauthorized drivers sidle up, whispering flat rates that dwarf the meter. Ignore them. Walk straight to the official taxi stand outside Terminal 3. Regulated fares only. The queue moves fast. Your wallet stays intact.
Off-airport lots love surprise fees. Shuttles near CVG have slapped riders with last-second fuel surcharges or late night fees never listed online. Ask for the final price before you climb aboard. Keep your reservation email open. Flash it if they try to pad the bill.
